Stain Removal

Every one likes clean shiny teeth. A bright smile shows someone who is proud of their appearance and is indicative of people of high self esteem.

The normal dental scaling removes tartar and plaque but it is too aggressive to be used to remove staining; sometimes damaging weak areas of tooth enamel.

Staining can arise from a variety of sources:

  • Smoking
  • Tea
  • Coffee
  • Red wine
  • Excessive use of certain mouthwashes
Stain removal for want of a better phrase is like having your teeth “sandblasted or jetwashed”. It is pain free, comfortable and non-invasive. A reservoir of bicarbonate of soda or silica particles is mixed with clean water and focused at pressure to remove stains. It is a very popular treatment with people electing to have it before important events, e.g. Weddings, interviews, meetings etc.
